The Warehouse Club targets young people with intellectual
disabilities currently attending an ACT high school aged 11 to 21. The
program provides both after school care and school holidays programs. This program continues to provide practical support and guidance to young people and their families. The
after school program runs on a rotating roster which enables
participants to experience and further develop their social and
physical skills. Activities include Sports, Excursions Cooking,
Community Access and Craft. The Warehouse Club program is always
seeking to provide more options for the participants and their families. The
Warehouse Club program also enables young people to participate in the
youth culture and hang out with their peers like other young people
their age. Hours of operation After School Care 3pm to 6.00pm (Monday to Friday) School Holiday Program 8.30 to 6.00pm (Monday to Friday) Fee Structure for The Warehouse Club After School Care per afternoon $8.50 = 2 working parents $6.50 = 1 working parent $2.00 = parents at home School Holiday Program $25.00 = 2 working parents $15.00 = 1 working parent $5.00 = parents at home All fees are open to negotiation. is a Life and Recreational skills program for people with intellectual
disabilities recently graduated from school. The target age group is
20-30 years. The aim of the program is to develop the
independence of participants through better health and well being. The
program is designed: - For people with intellectual
disabilities to gain independence. Make positive life choices through
education incorporating life skills;
- To
achieve independence, integration with the wider community, healthy
choices, life skills, community involvement and support for families of
the participants;
- With an emphasis on a
flexible, client-driven approach specifically tailored to individual
needs and circumstances including; likes, dislikes and aspirations of
individual participants; recognition and consideration of prior
learning and; identification and consideration of carer/guardian/family
needs from the program and wishes for the respective participant.
The program has 8 places available per day to young people. Cost is $10 per session. Hours of operation 8.30am to 3pm (Tuesday and Thursday). We can provide transport. Staff 2 staff per day are employed as support workers. After Work Care This
program is aimed at young people aged 20 to 25 years who may work or
attend other programs from 3pm. They then spend the afternoon with us
and join the other young people in recreational activities. Brokerage Program Some
families have requested that we provide individual support to their
son/daughter. This is done on an hourly basis and is funded through
post-school options allocations and Individual Support Packages.
